Hatha Yoga Classes

My classes are small so I can help you make adjustments to get the most out of each posture.

Please bring your own mat, or contact me for a loan if you don’t have one. Also bring a blanket for relaxation at the end, this can also be rolled up to support you while sitting and in other floor based postures.

Relaxation & Guided Meditation

Spend one hour in a peaceful, safe place where you can focus on just one thing at a time.

In small groups I take you through guided meditations; giving you something to focus on like your breathing, a visualisation or a part of your body. Different things work for different people at different times so I vary the way we do it but always with the same objective.

You will be lying or sitting for the hour with some gentle movement when needed to stretch out.

The secret of relaxation is to not ‘try’ to relax but to acknowledge then ‘let go’ of worries, expectations and physical tightness. Softening and loosening your muscles and thinking of things that encourage peace and contentment will help this happen.

This is a guided session you just sit back and go with it, if you would like a more interactive session look out for workshops.

Supported Yoga Classes

Are you hesitant to join a yoga class, worried about keeping up? Perhaps you’re returning after a break, or find certain movements challenging due to old injuries or mobility issues. Embrace the opportunity to practice with extra support and attention to transitions in my Wednesday 11:30am Hatha yoga class.

Who is this class for? This class caters to individuals who may find traditional yoga sessions demanding due to mobility concerns. If standing, sitting, or transitioning between postures presents a challenge, this class offers the support you need to practice comfortably.

What to expect:

  • Unlike chair yoga, we will be on mats, but a chair will be available for balance, support and ease during transitions from laying, sitting and standing.
  • Feel free to bring your own props such as straps or blocks for added assistance.
  • With a maximum of 6 participants, there’s ample opportunity for personalized attention and adjustments.
  • You’ll follow the same class plan as our regular sessions, with modifications tailored to your needs.

Benefits of Hatha Yoga: Hatha yoga focuses on enhancing flexibility, strength, and balance while cultivating mindfulness in every movement. Each posture is an opportunity to connect with your breath and calm the mind. Our sessions conclude with a 10-minute relaxation or meditation, allowing your body to reset and rejuvenate.

Join us: Don’t let mobility concerns hinder your yoga journey. With Dawn’s guidance, discover how a little extra support can empower you to practice with confidence. Reach out to Dawn for more information and secure your spot in this nurturing yoga experience.
